enter a no-cargo voyage?

After starting BICS fill in only the following mandatory entries on the screen "Add voyage": (the yellow fields):

* port of departure
* port of destination
* first reporting point, if applicable
* draught (actual)
* number of occupants on board

You can then send the voyage by clicking on the green telephone.

delete superfluous BOS reports?

There are a number of ways:

• You can enter a retention period (duration) on the settings screen (menu option ). When the retention period has elapsed the message will be removed if you press the button or the menu option .
• You can delete individual folders and files from the message overview screen by pressing the DEL key.
• If you hold down the CTRL key and click on a folder or file at the same time you can select a number of messages or folders. A red mark appears in front of the name. Pressing DEL causes the selected items to be deleted.

open and close the BOS report folders and files in the overview screen?

Go to >Screen in the menu bar and then to >Display. You are then able to carry out various functions with the help of the function keys F2, F3 and F4. Try this out. In some cases you can also click "message overview" on the menu bar to close the file tree.
